http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=30289 or if you want a cheaper way you can do what my uncle did on his he used 2" pipe from the manifold back then used a Flowmaster(40 delta flow) with single inlet duel outlet and then 2 1/5 pipes over the axles out the back...its the best 6cyl engine i've heard.... but its slow as hell.
It is easy to split it after the cross member and run dual pipes from there over the axle and back. Run two mufflers and you cut down on the restriction of a single muffler. It will never sound like a V8 but it can sound pretty good.
I thought that maybe if I split the exhaust manifold (3 on one side and 3 on the other) I would have better harmony. Can this be done?
not if you use 3" pipes that way too big for that six even for a mild V8 if i were you i would split it from there using 2" pipe back to dual muffs then 2 1/2 out the back for a deeper sound.
Three ways to do it: Split headers, dual outlet muffler or a simple "Y" pipe reversed. Summit Racing sells these Y's
