allright, i came across a set of sport mirrors BUT the passanger body is broken but has a good pedestal and the driver has a broken cable.

my question is, without the cable it wont stay in place right??
or can i just use the pedestals and get mirrors from a torino or mustang???

    thanks in advance guys.

Answer to the 1st question is yes...it won't stay in place without the cables.
2nd question answer is as long as it is from a non adjustable mirror. They made only two types of passenger's style sport mirror heads and one style needs the cables to keep it from flopping around and the other is the same that came on a Maverick

The housing and pedestal come apart easy enough. There are 2 screws holding them together. The problem on a remote mirror is the pedestal will only slide down the cable. Which is fine if you are painting them but makes it tough to fully remove and swap around. The cable needs to be removed for that. It can be done, by releasing the crimped cable ends. But it is a PITA to do.

Is your cable broken or just loose from the crimp? They can be repaired but like I said, it is a pain.
