I am sure they will "fit". But they might not look right. Each car (Maverick, Mustang, Torino, etc) has a different "pitch" to the door where the mirror mounts. So....each car has a different mirror mount "leg" that goes with the sport mirror to make up for these differences.

Yes, they will work. The ones one my 72 came from a mustang freak.

I think you'll find they don't work as good as the correct ones due to the mount leg Craig was talking about. I didn't realize they were so different until I put a Mustang one on the right side of one of my cars before and the left side was the correct Maverick one. The mount is probably about one inch difference in height and the angle is different enough that the mirror doesn't sit level. This was one that came off a 70 Mustang. I've since bought up a few more Maverick ones from eBay so I don't run into this problem again. You can usually find them on eBay very reasonable...just be patient and make sure they ARE for the Maverick/Comet.

I have a spare driver's 'leg', the bullet is damaged and I replaced the whole mirror after I gutted the glass and remote.
Get your best deal on Stang or Torino mirrors and use the bullet with a Mav leg.
$10 will get you my spare part to your door.
The passenger bullet on mine is broken too, leg is good, but I don't have a replacement yet or I would offer you that leg too.
I hope to find a passenger remote control bullet off a Granada to use on that side.

I put a pair of sport Mirrors in my Mave that I bought on AutoZone and in appearance they looked good; there were no problem with the driver's side, but the angle for the one in the passenger's side wasn't good so eventually it didn't work and in one of the many adjustments I accidentally brooked it... so now, I'm looking for a pair from other maves of mustangs.
