I was watching this steering wheel on ebay just to see what they are selling for. I can't believe what it sold for. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4575207889&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT I guess that means I better hold on to the one I have.
They are getting popular and I dont think thats a bad price. I got mine for an even swap for a passenger side sport mirror. A lot of custom wheels are that much & more.
If that is indeed the real leather wrapped one, it was a great deal. His picture stinks and it is hard to tell if it is the real leather or not. 95% of the wheels out there are the leather looking vinyl. I have sold several of the vinyls at over $200 plus shipping.
Thats the kind of wheel I want. I love the way those look, and the aftermarket ones just aren't quite the same as a real one. I wouldn't hesitate to pay that price for that wheel. That, and the 20+ year old Grant GT wood rimmed wheel in the Mav is falling apart.
I have two. One is real leather, but it is in bad shape. Paid $8.00 (eight dollars) for it. The other is fake leather (vinyl) and I paid $140.00 for it. I didn't want to pay that much but I really wanted one. They look like they were made for a Maverick. Some Pintos, Broncos, and Mustang-IIs had them. There aren't any aftermarket steering wheels that really appeal to me...
The one I have is in pretty good condition. With the original leather, I just need to find the stallion horn button. Who knows what happened to the original one. It probably grew legs and got away.
Hey T.L. is that a orignal center console. Those are pretty rare aren't they? I sure would like to have one.
