    Mike,
I don't know about the decals but I do have a question. Was the PO able to give you any history on the car? When I talked to him on the phone he mentioned he brought it here from Michigan. Probably where it got most of its "charm". Just wondering...

SoCal. I talked to him as much as I could without stalking him...lol

he REALLY didn't want to sell it (but the wife did), and until the car hauler dude called me, I really didnt know if I was going to get it or not...even after I had sent him the money.

He told me he used to live in Corunna, Mi. and saw the car in a barn when he was younger (high school or shortly after i think) and kept bugging the guy until he sold it to him. when he enlisted in the navy and got stationed in San Diego, he packed up the old mav and drove out there, i want to say 4-6 years ago. didnt sound like he had been driving it much the past couple of years and it sat on base baking.

thats what I know. I am sure after some time passes I might be able to talk to him more about it, and I also made it very clear that he can come visit her anytime he is in Michigan :D

I am not much a writer, but thats what I know...

I remember growing up in Flint. If you kept a car long enough the salt from the winter would eat your car from top to bottom or vice versa. It must have spent a lot of time in that barn...lol

I'm telling you SoCal, other than the floorboards (and 80% of those are good), the car is pretty damn solid... i have seen WAY worse from our (yes OUR) fair state ;)

Have you tried image googling "Blue Maverick Stallion? It's worth a shot. Great story to that car. Thanks for sharing it.

Mike, did you see the pics of the blue Stallion in the gallery of this forum? The car has been repainted but it certainly looks like he has the red decal. I certainly am not any kind of expert on these cars but my guess would be that red was used on all of the colors EXCEPT red.

Sales brochure just has a silver car. I would bet it would be red. Too bad Wes isnt around, he knew everything.

I would agree, and the best logic comes from good ole Ray. red decals except for red cars (they got the orange)

thats what I am going with...

    red.

    done deal.

    really.

I would say all Stallion had red decal except the red one who had orange decal.

I bought red, in looking at the faded ones on my car I believe it to be the correct choice...

To my knowledge red would be the correct color decal for your car.
