Starter Change with Transmission Change

    I'm in the process of changing from a C-4 to AOD. I have a new starter, came with the engine and was for a C-4 flex plate. Do I have to get a new starter when I put on the new flex plate?:hmmm:

    Nope it's fine...

    I took a 164 tooth AOD flexplate over to a friend this morning, he's using it with a late 5.0, orig C4 and it's orig starter in a '77 Bronco... Was already in the hole when I left, he's probably out riding around by now...
