starter sticks on

    can someone please tell me why when i start my mav the starter keeps rolling?seems like everytime i put something new something else goes bad:49:

    The solenoid is bad. Just get a new starter, as they come with the solenoid and are only around $25.00 ...

    Either the starter is hanging up, or the solenoid is. Easiest wat to figure out which it is, is to take the starter cable off the solenoid, Then just hold it tightly against the post, get someone to start it, once its running and sounding like its dragging, pull the wire off. If it keeps running, you have a binding problem with the starter. If it stops, the solenoid is the problem, or the wiring going to the solenoid.

    ok thanks guys so is the solenoid on the starter or on the fire wall its a 77 with a i6

    The mav is gone but i'm still here!
    some have a solenoid on the starter but thats for extra torque they mean this kind

    ok went out and checked it and when i tried to take the starter wire lose it kept starting the car so a new solenoid was only like 8 $ so tomorrow i will give it a try thanks alot guys u are alot of help im glad to have a place to go and ask questions thanks tom
