I`ve heard that the Power steering box has a quicker ratio than the Manual box? If this is true , would it be possible to switch to a power box while still keepng manual steering? Could I simply swap out the boxes,or is there more to it than that?

    Steering Box

Decided to look in the shop manual for my own brain enhancement(whats left of it anyway). It states the manual box is 22:1 ratio with 5 1/2 turns lock to lock(without steering linkage hooked up). The power box is 16:1 with 4 turns lock to lock(same as above). As Mavaholic stated boxes are the same externally. Seem there was an issue with the pitman arm but not sure, been many moons since I did it.

The pitman arm is different between power and manual steering, but the shaft comming out of the box is the same. Either arm will bolt to either box. Its more of a difference for the linkage.
