I am going to go to a floor shift in my Mav. I assume there were some floor shift columns out there in a Maverick? What cars do I need to look at? Would love to tilt as well. Any thoughts? Anyone selling one? Thanks, Glenn
mines converted to floor shift with a column shift (column). I would not worry about it unless you building show car. Just remove all the linkage and the column shifter. My B&M shifter came with a nuetral safety switch.
I did the same thing years ago in my 74, popped the pin for the shift lever, and pulled the indicator cover off, no one ever noticed.
I don't think so. On mine, I went so far as to ground off the lever's "bump" and the column mounted tach covers the hole. Someone has to look pretty hard to notice what was done.
I have no previous knowledge about these but here's a brand new column for a floor shift maverick http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
Old street rod trick, did it many times,I also Tack weld the shift tube where the lever sticks out at the bottom, then cut the lever off flush, looks factory
