Okay.... Currently, the steering wheel in my 71 Grabber is completely wasted. Sooo, does anybody know where I could possibly get another original, besides going to a pick-n-pull and searching for hours? Or do any of you have any suggestions of steering wheels that look nice? Thanx! :bananaman

    David-
Autokrafters sells them. They are reproduced since these wheels were
used on several different models and makes. I believe black is the only
color unless that has changed recently. The pad is available separately
    if my memory is correct.
They are not cheap. You could probably put an extremely nice aftermarket
wheel on for less or the same money.

    I bought a Moto-Lita/LeCarra wheel for mine.

The stock steering wheels for these cars are ugly and the grip is too small.

Grant makes nice steering wheels for a decent price but they are all too small in diameter for my taste.

I finally got myself a Mustang-II factory sport wheel ('74-'78). They seem to work well on these cars. It's a 15-inch diameter. Anything smaller than 14-1/2" and you cannot see your speedo cluster. Racers don't care but it's nice to be able to see it on the street...

What color is your original wheel? I have several black latter style wheels with horn pads in very nice shape if that might help. The price will be right. E-mail me if you're interested.

In any case, regardless of what color your interior is, a black steering wheel looks the best (and it doesn't show the dirt)...

When I got it, they were around $225. They make other types, this one is getting
harder to find and they are around $285 now. I think it is a Mark III or IV. Moto-Lita makes these wheels for LeCarra.
    See www.lecarra.com

They have other versions in wood and leather grips.

I picked up my Mustang II Stallion wheel at Carlisle some years ago for around $25.

I used the Mustang Shelby wheel from a Mustang resto house, and it was $89.95. Works great, has a black dense foam grip and is easy to install.

I agree with TL, the Grant wheels are a little small, but it makes it alot easier to climb over the roll cage with the smaller wheel.
