Depends greatly on the year model. 70-71 250s have better numbers than the post smog cars. My original 70 250 was really peppy for a 6 cylinder off the line....the 64 model 200 I later put in it is weaker than rain water.

it's a 71. I'm just trying to figure out where I'm at compared to keeping up with other cars on the road. like a honda.

I'd say you'd have no problem out running my 4 cylinder Jeep Liberty...it barely pulls itself!

I have no numbers on 0-60 times....but I can remember hanging with my friend off the line who had a 318 74 Duster....then at 40 he would pull like I was sitting still. They run good for a 6 but no power house.

Around 155 hp....the post smog ones are about 50-60 hp less.

when mine had the stock 250 it would spin the tire if you powerbraked it and chirp 2nd now and then. It was peepy for a 6 cylinder. I guess it would run the 1/8 mile in the mid 11's

Don't bother, unless you want to get embarrassed.

Not really that big a difference... They changed the way the horsepower was rated.

I forgot about the change to rear wheel hp. Now I feel a little better about the 77 model 250 I'm getting ready to drop in my 1970 Maverick. :yup:

Mine was able to do it in 11.10 seconds, (1/8 mile) all stock, 3.00 gears
