    Hi all,
I recently purchased a console on e-bay. :yippee: It is the factory mini-console that was available in 72. I need to know the placement of the consoles from the factory. Any one have a pic in their gallery that I could look at or one in the car that I could get measurements from? I love the look of the thing and it is in pretty good shape! :bananaman Thanks for any help you can give!

If no one else has the measurement I `ll check mine its all original so it should be at the right place.

I wondered the same thing, I only have seen black, and didn't they come out in 73 and for one year only?
I've been saving one for years, I think it's going in my 73, that package try is usless.

I love my shelf .. I have the LDO version like in the picture. I need to put a new piece of carpet in it to keep my stuff from rattling and sliding though ... I think the Consolette was available all years the package tray was available .... perhaps not available originally though on the 70 ... I have an NOS clock delete plate with the Maverick Logo and it has a 1970 part # ...

Hmmm, maybe I need to put some carpet in the shelf, or some of that bumpy rubber stuff....I had one with a clock once, but I sold it, I figured I would never use it....:(

    Thanks Guys,
The console placement looks pretty straight forward. I thought I knew how it went in but the bottom is more curved than the trans tunnel and that threw me off. But I see in the pic that the curve is noticeable even from the factory. I was thinking of redoing the whloe thing in White and Blue to install in the Sprint. Might just put it in the Grabber though. Any ways Thanks for the help!!

JUST CROSSED MY MIND SINCE I HAVE ONE THESE EXTRA AS WELL.... MAYBE THE REASON FOR IT BEING MADE A LIL DIFFERENT IS THAT IS WAS INTENDED FOR USE IN THE 70 MODEL SINCE THE TRANNY TUNNELL IS NARROWER. WOULDNT THAT MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE? AND IF SO, THEN THAT WOULD MEAN IT WOULD HAVE BEEN AVAILABLE IN 1970 AS WELL. CAN ANYONE SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS THEORY...:16suspect

I'm sure it was available for the 1970 model ... like I said ... the clock delete plate is a D0DZ part # ...

I watched an auction for a really nice 69 once that had the mini console.
Of course the auction said it was original to the car, but you know how that goes...
It was convincing in that auction though.
Probably was designed for the early trans tunnel, then never changed when the tunnel got wider.

I have both versions of the consoles. One is a full arch and the other is flat with a curve on one side.

It's on the back of the '71 sales brochure, but I have a '70 accessory brochure, and I don't see it listed, I'll check my parts book.

I think Jamie is correct. Why else would the curve on the bottom be so narrow? SVTHauln what are the codes stamped on your two consoles? Be interesting to see if there was a change in the consoles after x year.
    Thanks
