    Hey Guys:

You've been really helpful to me on this car regarding the work it needed, I'm hoping for another great answer. I've finished the manifold replacement to see the exhaust is cobbled together, welded, spliced, and the muffler has some soft spots. Surprisingly, none of my normal suppliers show ANY exhaust parts for this car- RockAuto, AutoZone, Napa, Carquest, Ebay, Google, all come up empty when looking for the intermediate pipe and muffler. My buddy who owns it would not exclude buying an NOS pipe and muffler if he could find one, or at least a correct pipe and round muffler that fits. He bought an NOS muffler to fit this car at a swap meet a while back to find it's not even close to being correct. (Ha! big oval monster, probably for a Crown Vic or something) From memory I think it has a round muffler about 8" dia x 20" long with a short integral tailpipe, maybe 4-6" long. It has a factory (?) bracket welded on the back of the muffler for the hangar with another hangar in front of the muffler. I know I can go to a local muffler shop and have them bend something up but that's probably a last resort. Can anyone point me to a supplier of correctish or NOS stuff that would fit really nice and be quiet? This is a super clean 40K mile car that deserves good parts, and my buddy is fussy, which is cool with me. I think it has the original front pipe on it, which is still pretty solid, and there's a joint mid-car behind the tranny, I need everything behind this.

I appreciate the help, guys, thanks!

Brings back memories of the original exhaust on mine.

Driving it through the parking lot in high school I was wondering why some girls were looking in my direction. Apparently, the muffler had rusted away at the inlet and was dragging along the ground. This was until I went over a pothole and the muffler got caught and levered up the back end of the Maverick. It ripped the muffler from the car. I just kept driving and left the muffler right in front of the main entrance.
