Did the driver side stripe today ... all the stress I could handle! I'll do the passenger another day.

Found a place in Dallas, GA that is gonna chrome my front bumper for $180 ... Dallas, Plating. Not bad but 2 to 3 week turnaround ...

Not sure about the straightening ... He didn't ask when I called for the quote - although mine is already straight. A guy I work with lives four miles up the road from the place so he dropped it off for me today. Here is the number: (770) 445-8926

Those are good post your updating us with Dan.

It's neat seeing your progress (y)

M.A.V. - I just had my bumpers rechromed. The rear had a
mild bend in it and the front had some pitting that I was unsure
of but, my father said his guy could make it look new again...
sure enough, it looked much better than i would have thought.

    I purchased it here ...

    http://www.stencilsandstripes.com/pr_ford&mer_mav.asp

but their actual supplier are these guys ...

    http://www.graphic-express.com/ford_maverick_grabber.htm

I found this out because I called Graphic Express and asked them if since their kit was Authorized by Ford was it better than Stencil's and Stripes. I also asked why there kit was more expensive. I was told:

    1) They supply Stencil's and Stripes with the kit - so the price should be the same
    2) It is Ford Approved but the word Grabber is NOT silk-screened like the factory original. They said they do not sell enough to go through the expense of silk-screening. I beleive they do silk-screen the Boss and Mach Mustang stripes ...

I ordered mine throught Stencil and Stripes to see if I could get it for the Advertised $279 price ... A couple of days after my order they called and said the original reflective type stripe is actually $389 and their website price was wrong. I knew Graphic Express was telling the truth about supplying the stripes at that point. I wanted the original reflective tape so I paid the price. The yellow Grabber logo is another layer of tape instead of Silk-screened on but looks good.

The only problem with the reflective stripe is if you take a picture of the car using a flash the stripe appears white instead of black so I took the picture above with the flash turned off ... :D

    I like the reflective stripes.
All of the Black striped grabbers were not reflective were they?

Only 1971 Grabbers were reflective as far as I know ...

I think your car is looking QUITE FLY! (early 70's phase for you young'ns)

While on the subject of the stripes, what are the extra trunk stripes that I see list for a 72 grabber?
