I have been making progress on my sub frame connectors. :yahoo:We are at the proto type stage.

The overall design is based upon tying the sub frames together and into the rocker panel. It also ties into the front torque box along with the front sub frame. It will provide "hard ponts" for the mounting of seats, rollbars and safety belts. Made to the same high standards that the buyers of my M/C bar, Custom Export Brace, HD Belly Bar, Camber Eccentric Eliminator Kit and Shelby Drop Index Tool are familiar with. I think that this will be an innovative sub frame connector that I plan to produce for Mustangs, as well as Mavericks and Comets. Not like anything on the market, now.

    MADE IN AMERICA!!

I am hoping for early summer production. No pictures at this time.

Everything takes longer than I think it will. The factories I deal with here in Wisconsin, all seem to have a full work load.

I feel it is time to let this" Cat" out of the bag, so I can judge what kind of need, ... want...there is for these.

I have a set that I have not welded onto my car. Won't be ready to do it for a while. Based on how yours look and mount I may change plans and go with your product. Look forward to seeing pictures.

I've been going to order a set for my project car, but I'll wait to see what yours look like, if it compares to everything else you've made, I'm in for a set.

Definitely interested, esp since they tie to the rockers and torque boxes.

I will be interested to see what you come up with. I was thinking that tying into the rockers would provide a lot more stiffness. I wanted to come off the end of the front frame stub at about a 45 degree angle to the rocker. In my mind, the geometry change would have a great amount of leverage to stiffen a car up.

There was a tech article online on a Mustang site ... I forget which ... and their premise was to install standard subframe connectors and see how much reduction in door sag they could measure as the car was jacked up a given amount (before and after installing the connectors). The net effect ... there was NO difference.

Tying to the rockers as well as front-to-back should make a big difference over regular-design connectors as I can imagine it. It would be very interesting to put this to the test.

That is, driving my design. Plus it will be the foundation for seat mounts, rollbar mounts, etc.

I think the inline (regular) type subframe have been plenty good for drag racing and there is no need to add the weight if you don't want to, but for handling, road race/autocross type applications this ought to be awesome! Bob, can't wait to see it and sorry for already mentioning the connectors earlier.
