I'm building my comet up to be a beautiful muscly daily driver. And I'm wondering how big i should/could go with the tires. I mean the bigger the better for me, but only until it begins to comprimize driving ability, and i'd rather not have to alter anything.

what have you guys found are the most suitable tires?

255/60r15 on 8" with 4-1/4" BS for rear
215/60r15 on 7" front, 4-1/2" BS (I think), might be able to squeeze 225 on front, but I would go with /55r15. My 215s just barely miss hitting the front of the fender lip. But, mine is dropped pretty low in front. See pic below. That is no optical illusion...the tire is around 1/4" from hitting the front valence.

Hey Scoop, that just does not look right at all. When I had 225/60-15s up front, they were nowhere near as close to tha valance as your tires are. That was with 15x7" Torque-Thrusts and 3-3/4" backspace...

Right or not, that is what I got.

Keep in mind those valences are 72s mounted on a 74 fender...maybe that has something to do with it.

Plenty of space all around except the front.
