Suggestion: Just wondering about

How about a live chat box? let's hear the pro's and con's on it.

 

I like the idea, people says it defeats the purpose of a forum but I dont think so...topics in chat boxes only stays active for a few minutes before the topic is changed...a topic on the forum stays around for weeks sometimes and can always be brought back years from now if need be...itd be nice for casual chat and getting to know people on a more personal level instead of just reading posts.

Ive ran a forum with a chat box for a while in the past and both were always active, when someone replies to a post and waits for a reply back they'd hang around in chat and talk to people for a few minutes and then go back and check their post.

If nothing else put it in a trial type thing

 

Sometimes you just need a quick answer to a question (how do I put out an under hood fire? lol) and that would be a way to get a quick answer...I just was on the Spring Break forum from Tripsmarter this morning and they have one there and I like it so I thought it would be nice in here.

 

Chat rooms have been tried before with very limited success, if any. Since anybody can sit up a chat room on many of the numerous free websites, I suggest somebody just sit one up and post about it on here. It would pretty much be the same thing as having one on here. I mean....where is HERE anyways.

 

I used to do that years ago on another forum. Set up a chat room on my personal site I used to have and posted a link to it on the forum. Works well.
