There should be an exception to the "no solicitation posts" rule for members with good trader ratings who produce, or arrange for production of, new parts such as radiators, crossmembers, monte carlo bars, z bars, etc. They're not getting rich off these things and the products are good for the community. Used parts offerings shoud stay in the classified section IMO.

I think they can post those under maverick parts for sale? Everything you listed can be made for a maverick.

I thought "no solicitation" was selling stuff without the owners permission when clearly their is a section for maverick parts.

This is IMO.... i think i read this right?

The issue with making a part and selling it is that the topic you make will get lost in the cluster of all the other topics.

In my opinion you should be able to put things you CREATE in your sigs, as long as you dont make an exceptionally large profit off of it...it would benefit the community as a whole

In the past, I always allowed people to make general announcements of new products. This has not changed. However, I will not allow the spamming of members through PMs. If someone has something to sell, they can post it in the classifieds.

That sounds good. No SPAM PMs, please. Wasn't suggesting SPAM. I was just thinking it should be OK for someone to reply to a post that indicated a need for a part like a crossmember or a monte carlo bar with the bare facts about part that he makes or arranged to have made. Also to list the part in his signature. JMO.

If its in the classifieds, they may receive an excessive advertisement/self promotion infraction, especially if they are a new member (Could be a scammer).

Here is a perfect example (most of his posts are pushing parts) of something that will get you banned.

I dont have a problem with this, as long as it does not stick out like a sore thumb.

See what you mean. I was thinking of the several posts where the author needs but isn't aware of the available T5 crossmember. A reply, be it PM or post, that makes him aware seems helpful to him. Don't think you should disallow that. Guess the key is your and the moderators' discretion. Ya'll seem to get it right.

If someone expresses interest in something, then it would be ok to send them a pm
