hello everybody i'm thinking of putting a sun roof in my mav. anybody got ideas which type i should install and lets keep it economical please.
with good roof metal almost nonexistant please don't cut a hole in you roof, if you were to wreck it and some one needed a good roof it could still be used, sell it to me before you beat on it and cut it up!!!!!!!!!!
I just can't see a Mav looking right with a sun roof. It just dosen't fit the car IMO both from the inside or out.
I thought the samething, until I saw Bill's 70 Maverick with a sunroof...Looks pretty awesome to me....
My '77 had a sunroof; it blended well with the car I thought. The one I had was installed around 1990, so I am sure technology has changed. Also, the "they always leak" argument is not true. If installed properly, the sunroof will not leak. In all the years I had my '77 it never leaked, even after sitting outside and not being driven for 6 years. I wish I had a picture so show ya, but I don't have any online. If you decide to get one I would think about trying to find a decent shop to install it, not only to seal from leaks, but to deal with the headliner since it can be a bit tricky to get it to blend with the edge of the sunroof.
economical will sort of depend on you wont it? if you have the ability, you can install one on your own, if your paying to have it done then the basic type will be the cheapest route to go.
ok folks. i see we have good and bad reactions to putting a sunroof in a maverick but i just remember having one in my '79 mustang that i once had and i liked it alot. sure would help with the interior temp.since it's all black. and as far as the headliner, i don't have one yet so i could install a modified one to my own liking i believe that i could install a sun roof myself as long as it doesn't need a drain system so i'll look around to see what i can buy etc. if i do go with it i. 'll let y'all know.
