I have a 73 grabber. I was wondering if I were to order some suspension parts for it from global west or any other performance suspension distributer what year mustang would have the same or similar suspension setup as my maverick? What year mustang has the same size shock tower length as a maverick for monte carlo bars?

No Mustang has the same shock-tower width as a Maverick. You have to have a Monte Carlo bar custom-built if you want one.

'67 to '73 Mustangs use the same upper control arms and ball-joints, as well as some of the other front suspension components (although I do not know exactly which ones). C.J. Pony Parts has the best prices on Mustang front suspension parts...

feel free to swing by my place and take measurements. All you need is the shape of the mounting plates. The pipes going across will get you close enough that you can take the slack up with the heim joints.

If that is a name of a place to have a "good drink" you might not want to go there, you could end up wakeing up with a beard, next to you...:rofl2: :p

scooper has a good one to check out so you can make one. Or you can ask fan2488, he is the origional maker of the one I will end up with. Good luck (y)

I gave NAFORD302 the dimension last week and he said he was going to try to make some over the weekend.

Hardest part would be bending that one tube, unless you moved it to clear the distributor and kept it straight. Also, the big holes around the shock would be a hassle to cut.

Other than that, should be pretty easy to make.

I was lucky, I never asked for mine, but was a the right place at the right time, and the price was right, so I snagged them. I will never go back to the flat plate steel one, if for nothing other than I don't cut my knuckles on the monte bars...:D

If I made my own, I would maybe move the long bar forward about 4 inches, clear the distributor, and open up space for accessing the valve covers. But, without going out and taking a look, it may just end up hitting something else...:hmmm:
