Hey y'all yesterday I swapped a performance ignition coil wire a friend gave me with the old one and the car wouldn't start.Ok,no big deal, put the original back on and couldn't get it to fire not even a little bit and by fire I mean it will crank but not start.I made sure everything was in proper order and actually started it before the swap and it started and ran better than usual.Any ideas what went wrong?

BTW I tried to start it with a different ignition coil just to make sure I didn't fry the other one.

If you have an electronic system the lower resistance of a high performance coil may have fried the module. If you have a points system make sure you have power ( with the ignition on ) at the + side of your coil and with the points closed, you should have no power at the - side of the coil. If you show power at the - side of the coil, with the points closed, the points aren't contacting and should be cleaned or replaced. With the points open you should have power to the - side of the coil too. :)

Thanks for the input fellas.I put an Accel points eliminator kit in it yesterday thinking that would solve the problem but it still won't start.Came close, but no dice.Checked all the volts and ohms and tripled checked all the connections but still at a loss.So any ideas on that would be much appreciated.
