In Keith Urban's music video for "Sweet Thing", it's about a 69' stang but at 1:38 here there appears to be a comet in the window. At 1:35 you can see the rear of one too.
You got a pretty good eye as you only see the Comet for a split second and the video is cool too. I like the passing through time theme of the video.
I think it is a Maverick. The same car is in both shots you describe....and it looks like a Maverick hood to me.
To me it looks like it has a Comet hood cause it has the comet "beak" and doesn't come to a point in the center.
I just copied the picture and blew it up and the back shot of it is a Maverick and the back panel has that flat raised bar that travels across the length of the back panel, also there is a slight hint of a black Grabber strip above the rear marker light. But i still say it's a Comet with Maverick taillights.
