Did a search, but it was difficult to find any information.

I am rebuilding my Maverick's 302 and want to add headers. I was thinking of Doug Thorley headers and have the link provided below. And being that my car has a T5 5-speed, there is a chance they will not fit because the application claims it "fits column shift models only". Has anyone had experience with these headers? Can anyone else give me a suggestion to a good set of long tube headers assuming these do not fit without modification? Thanks

Edit: No A/C, no P/S, manual transmission, floor shifter. I know the application says it will fit, but Summit techs don't specialize in making them, they only sell them. Does anyone have experience using them?

Are you using a cable clutch, hydraulic conversion or stock maverick bell crank?

We used the Hooker set: EFI with T-5 cable clutch. The cable runs close and needs to be anchored away from the tubes.

I'm using mechanical linkage. I modified my bellhousing to support a pivot ball and a new clutch fork so it would push the fork to disengage the clutch

I have the same clutch set up as you with a t5 and hooker comp long tube headers it is tight to linkage and pitman arm but does work well have no real issues clutch linkage does slightly touch pitman arm on a tight left turn but not a big deal.

I'm using hookers part #6901 which I think they offer in ceramic coated as well. The tubing is a little thinner I think than the Doug Thorley's but they'll last years with that coating. I use a 86-93 bell housing and like Steven Harris, I had to wrap the cable and anchor it to prevent contact with the tube. If you're using a modified old style bell housing, it might be considerably different.

It's going to be until Tuesday before I can get an answer from Doug Thorley regarding header/T5 compatibility since their Maverick guy is on vacation. The hedman elite headers are only for automatic transmissions, and I'd like something a little thicker than the hookers.
