One question I do have for you guys....... is there a "bearing or bushing" that goes on/ in between the motor and input shaft that i need? I didn't have to shorten mine. I was able to install driveshaft with the caps still on the U-joint.

The previous owner of my maverick said the stock driveshaft was used when installing the T5, I didn't have issues with it being too short, i believe I had over an inch of room to go in and out with the yoke

If you have a '94-'95 setup, those bells are deeper so place the trans more rearward than '93> earlier...

What are you using for a cross member? I just bought a t5 for my car. Gonna start getting it installed soon. What are you using for a clutch cable or linkage? What kit did you buy for the install? I've always wondered if any of the mustang kits would work.

Most Mustang parts don't fit a Maverick...they're two different cars. More Falcon and Fairlane parts come closer to fit a Maverick than Mustang. I used the factory Maverick clutch linkage and a custom cross member from member 71gold. Reason I didn't want to use a cable or hydraulic linkage is because cables stretch, burn and break and hydraulic is slow on the return.

Are these cross members still available? From my understand the cross member has to be lowered about 1 1/2 inches from stock. I'm thinking about taking a stock cross member to a local fabricator and see if he could create one using the factory member as a template.

I have a 71 Mav. with a factory V8, 3 speed column shift that i moved to the floor.
I ordered all my parts from Modern Drive Line... If you email or call them I am sure they will set you up....
T5 with all the fixings was under $2800 and i kept/am using my old clutch linage. (zBar, clutch rod)
I removed the old nylon ball and bushings from the zbar and put a roller bearing.
I was able to use my old bell housing with the MDL T5 adapter plate, but i had to buy different bolts to attach it because the ribs inside the bell housing are too close to the holes i had to drill to attach it.
Cross Member i got from 71Gold on here, have to make a few modifications to it but i should work nicely once i get it all welded up.
Tilted the rear of the motor down and the T5 went right in and bolted up with about 1/2 to 1" between the top of the trans and the floor of the car.
Opened up the hole in the floor for the shifter and it looks like it going to work fine with my bench seat all the way back.
Drive shaft is currently at the machine shop, it will fit as is, but NO play from front to rear and the last thing i want is to hit a bump an shatter my new toy.
Will add links in next post.....
