    T5 without tunnel mod?

I've read some posts where DS tunnel needed to be modified and mentioned some do not need mod.

    Swapping the 3OTT - 74' Maverick toploader for a T5 .

Anyone installed T5 WITHOUT tunnel mod successfully, I'd appreciate their response..

    THanks

    Thanks for reply,

The TKO is taller than T5 , Is TKO tail a little lower for tranny to clear tunnel ? , did it need any attention to pinion angle ?.

    thanks

TKO 600 with Quick Time bell housing. This bell is nice and small and fit up in there way better than the T5/Lakewood Bell combo. I think I have 4° shims in.

I have heard, but haven't verified that the 69.5 have a smaller tunnel than the 70's...

    Yep ! Put a T5 into my 70 Maverick .. no mods .. Also put a Tremec into a 74 Comet .. DIFFERENT STORY !!
Much0 cutting and welding .. raised the floor 3" inches but after applying sound deadener , insulation , and Carpet
it's very quiet inside . You shouldn't have any problem installing the T5 ...

T5 won't fit in 74 Maverick tunnel stock position . The Toploader extends @ 3" above tranny mainshaft center and T5 extends @ 4-1/2". There Is some clearance above tranny with current toploader but not enough without raising tunnel above the rear of tranny case back to end of shifter box near end of tail shaft. Probably need tunnel mod ...

Boy, this is really getting confusing! Is the Tremec that much larger than T5?
    I assume the T5 should work/fit any year Mav/Comet w/o mods?
Installing the Tremec will require tunnel mods?

I have a TKO-600 in my '72 and had to cut the top of the tunnel for clearance. I removed the top 2" - 2 1/2" from where the tunnel meets the the curve of the firewall back to the tail shaft of the transmission. (I have a picture but it's too large for the server to process.)
