I've been wondering about that myself. I hate to go back to old school with the hose clamp around the steering column but there is only so many places you can mount a big Auto meter tach
I was thinking about doing the three gauges on the a pillar and seeing if that would look good with the tach under it also thought of maybe putting it in the tray thing under the dash board
Here is my Monster tach on a mount hand built by my friend. I have a black dash cover to install yet and the ashtray still opens for access to the lighter socket for Garmin use. I tried it everywhere. The steering wheel covered the top part of the tach if I mounted on the column. In the corner of the windshield or actually on the dash hid a lot of outside real estate while driving but this is a very good position. Bruce
I like the pillar...........doesn't have to be in a pod. Mine is on the roll cage and it's out of the way an in plane view...and the limiter is attached to the tach.
Just a question, why do you need a tach and what are you going to use it for................I know, kind of stupid question.......just wanted to ask.
i will do this and integrate it into the original cluster! will look more stock than anything else... http://www.maverick.to/mmb/showthread.php?t=81768
i put mine on the steering wheel, i previously had it just above the cig lighter and when i went to the track and got lined up in the right hand lane i found i was trying to look around it to see the tree, wasn't a real good place..
Are there any aftermarket digital "Heads-up" displays?? Or if someone wanted to butcher the parts out of a GM vehicle... I personally like the SunPro guts installed inside the left instrument cluster with cactusgrabber's decal overlay. I may even do it to mine someday.
