On my Comet when i put on my turning signals or my 4-ways, my passenger taillight (brighter part of the bulb) is not as bright as my drivers side bulb (only the brighter part of the bulb). When the taillights are turned on with no brakes, flashing turning signal or 4-ways the bulb brightness is the same on both sides. I have even switched the bulbs from one side to another and it is the same thing. I even scraped the little metal contact pieces inside the bulb socket holder so that they were clean and shiny for better contact and i still get the same thing. Should i just scrap the car? Seriously what do you guys think is the problem with my taillights and what should i do to try to get the passenger side brighter?\ Oh and by the way i do not have this problem. My taillights are Comet lights.
It seriously sounds like you have a grounding problem. Check the ground connection of the wire, not the bulb. My '76 F-150 loves to lose the ground on the rear lights. -Scott H.
I still have not checked it out yet as it has been raining for 2 days straight, hell there is a guy across the street building an ark.
