it was a used motor with 29,000 miles, its a 1985, i put a set of 1970 351w 4 barrel heads ,we did break in the cam running it for 15 mins @2000 rpm ,and have done about a 100 hole shots ....woooaa lol ,let that slip ,those are illegal ,please children we are trained professionals ,dont try that at home lol.....ill let you know how it does ,and try to get some pix ,they are calling for rain though........
do you all think it will run in the 7s 1/8th ,lets see who can guess the closes ,my chevy friend sez it might run 8.50s ,sez them fords dont run like a chevy ,so i ask him how fast would a 350 chevy run with same mods ,he said around 7.90s ,so thats my goal 7.90s or lower ......i guess 7.70s it seems strong ,thats about a 12.00 flat in 1/4 mile time .....
You shouldn't have any problems running in the 7's with that combo. My old 306 had 69 windsor heads, victor jr., and a 750. I ran 4.56 gears with a 3800 tci converter. Car was 2600 lbs. and it ran 7.17 in the 1/8. I had a solid roller cam though which was considerably larger than what you are running. Have fun!
Sweet, I think your going to be very pleased running ethanol. Outstanding performance, did you convert the carb your self?
yes i did,i been running it for 3 years now ,i bought the metering blocks this time ,but i have converted several also ,its just alot of work and the aftermarket blocks seem to work better anyway ....
Iv converted my carb myself but havent been to the track yet. Just curious what all you had trouble with on the conversion. Mine was just trial and error but not to big a deal. Mine seems to love it thats for sure!
