Hey everyone. Well, my Maverick will be going in to the body and paint shop on Monday. I'm going to have my dad help me take some pieces off. Do you have any advice as far as hard stuff goes... like the door handles, etc? Also, should I take anything out of the inside of the car, to help prepare? I want to do all I can, so that the guy doesn't charge me time for doing it. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Will most definitely post photos of the Mav in a week or so when I get her back, haha.:biglaugh: :bananaman :bouncy:

    hi,

    my list of things...

    side lites (f/r)

    grille

door locks/handles...remove the door panal..you will see two bolts (one on the door edge, one on the inside of the door). there is a clip that holds the lock rod, it just flips to the side. the door lock has a U-clip and one of the rod clips. if you need to get in later just stick your finger in the hole and push the flat piece.

hood trim moulding...(about 6 screws) that holds it on.

    mirrows...(2 screws each).

tail lights..(6 nuts each) on the inside of trunk).

filler neck..(i took the bolts out...the screws out of the boot and slid it out).

trunk lock...(1 screw and the clip) if you need to get in later use a screwdriver.

    front bumper...(about 5 bolt/screws each side).

rear bumper...(4 bolts and 1 wire)

wiper arms and rubber gromet on drivers side.

    rear window trim

radio antena..(square base has 2 screws) take it loose from radio and feed through the door post.

    tape off door seals

remove any wheelwell trim (if you have it.)

tape up driprail moulding and any other trim not removed "before" sanding.

the mav. emblems on the fenders can be removed also..(they have push pins) be careful not to break them. they are not that hard to find if you do.

tape hood bumpers if not being replaced.

this should make for a better job. most shops will tell you they have the "best" tape man so you want have to do all this. what i do is tape up all i "don't want painted"...frank...
