    Danny-
If you buy an aftermarket gauge from a Pepboys or Summit etc.
It should come with directions. They come in electric and mechanical.
If mechanical, it will have (most likely) a hard brass or metal line that
needs to have a fitting going into a water jacket in the intake.

    Try www.summitracing.com

I would go with mechanical....some opinions would vary....people worry about developing a leak inside the car due to the hose/line that runs from the intake....but my choice would be mechanical.

Any parts store will have them. Just remove the stock temp sender for the idiot light from the intake and screw in the right size adapter (they come with the gauge), then put the sensor and tighten the nut. All this of course AFTER running the line through the firewall... ;)

Hey what kind of carbuater do you have on your 302
I was thinking of get a 4 barrael but don't know if i have to do any mod. The reason i ask is cause when i tryied to buy a carb the guys form autozone told me they ran at $113 & up but told me i had to know the number:confused:. I bought the car just the shell and it doesn't have any sticker for the carb it uses. I just want something that will give me some house power on a tight budet:D

really need some motor specs......the number he is refering to (I believe) would be the cfm.....and that depends on (mainly) your motor.
For a general rule of thumb, you can use this formula:

    C.I. (cubic inch, motor size)
    x rpm
    /3456

That number will be @ 100% efficiency
Most street cars only run at about 80% efficiency. Hard core racer at about 95%.

    example:
    302
    x 6,000
    1812000/3456= 525 cfm.
again, just a general formula...not LAW
