Went and raced the new combo last week. Had problems as soon as we got to the track. Noticed that the engine was banging louder than usual when it was on the trailer. Assessed the noise to find a damaged rocker. It had worn through the push rod seat on the rocker. Obviously I had no spare with me, so I unhooked the trailer to do a 3.5hr turnaround trip for some spare rockers I had at the shop. Only got two runs in and the tune was really rich. Went 10.9@126, lost .4 and lost 7mph. Checked the afr and it was real rich at only 2.4. Pulled some jets out and stuffed up th 2-3 shift and went 10.9@130 loosing 3mph and still rich. Car is reving at 7700 over the line but feels as though it has more power at higher rpms.

Going to try a smaller rear tyre as its real lazy out of the hole 1.5 60's. Going from 31.5x13.5 MT Drag to a 28x12.5 et street radial. Will now rpm around 8300.

Havent had time to get it on the dyno. Also the 4link adjustments worked. Picks the front wheels up only 2" for 4 feet long now.

I'm really jealous that you're already able to be out testing and tuning. We have a strip up north along the coast that is going to have 2 days of test and tune and I'm working as fast as I can to be ready.
Just a question since your car and mine are about the same weight, although we have totally different motor/trans combo................what gears do you run and what size/stall/flash is the converter?
I'd really love to see more pictures of your car.

Sounds like things are coming together. I'm sitting in a motel a couple of blocks away from the track here. Ruth and I are spending some time in Phoenix. Have to be at the track tomorrow and Sunday, by 8 am, for our first 2 Summit series team races.:)

    John, I have a 5500 converter. I transbrake at 5200. I have 5.14 gears and have just changed to a 28" tyre.
