We all know it's strawberry!!! :tiphat:

Napa gold oil filter, is a good one (motorcraft and I'll quit there so my fingers don't get tired) and before the zinc bit (however you feel there) any approved oil WITH regular changing!

http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/ this will get you going!!!!!!

I will solve this for all of you. I work in an Auto Parts store, maybe you have heard of O'reilly Auto parts.

Well, Napa gold, Mobil 1, and K&N are all really good filters for the car... but there is a brand out there that is built the exact same as these said products for around 7 dollars. Wix, Wix filters are some of the best on the market and even come with a wix raceing style for more race oriented drivers. The inside contains no paper, like the fram filters and breathes better than K&N and Mobil 1. I don't know much about napa excet that they arnt cheap.

51515 Is the wix number for most maverick and comets and costs about 6.99.

I recomend Wix... and so does NASCAR... i had to say it.

I also work for an auto parts store for thirty years, And i agree we JesTer Wix filters are great filters. Our store is about ten minutes from Raceway Park and we stock the racing filters for the race car drivers because thats what they want, And we have the full line of wix filters. Also another great filter is Hastings, And as for the oil conventional valvoline or kendall. synthetic amsoil

i think it depends on where your at.

I here pepboys brand is made by penszoil and carquest brand is made by valvoline.

never use royal purple!! it glazes your internals.

Have to agree on the wix ,,, I think they make the napa`s an some others. Plant down in the carolina s. Napa golds go fo under 5 bucks I think, we haul them an wix`s- Napa gives me great deal on the golds.
Lots of commerical trucks use wix!

I have been using Mobile One for almost 20 years and think it is great. I run it in everything I own. As for filters I don't have a real preference.

Purolator Pure One oil filter is the #1 rated filter, filtering 99.9% of impurities. I have used Valvoline oil for years and have been happy with it. Their VR-1 Racing oil is just bout the only one left with zinc in it.

Most major brand oils are good. Even house brands are usually a major company private labeled. Advance brand is currently made by Peak. Before them, it was made by Shell, and before that Valvoline.
