uuuuhhhhhhhhhhh - huuuuuuuuuuuuu Even in prototype cars, the ID tags were marked correctly. If any of this is true.........
He's definitely right about that being a rare item. We don't see too many cars that rusted out and beat up for such a high price, with an owner talking straight out of his arse with no clue what came on these cars from the factory. What a piece of garbage, I'm not sure I would take that thing for free.
seller's quote: "...where we finally persuaded the family after years and numerous tries to sell it to us." So.... after all these years of trying to obtain it, why are they selling it now?
Being the experts we are, how could we have not known about the factory 4-bbl turbo-charged maverick they made!
Factory turbo, 4 barrel Maverick with a 9" POSI rear end and 4 spd toploader, those were a dime a dozen weren't they?
It insults my intelligence to think that they would have me believe all that.I guess they're worth more witha history(real or fake)huh?Hey guys,I got a 75 4door that Elvis' third cousins brother-in-law's stepmother actually sat in...for 10 minutes!Any takers? It was worth a shot.
But talk about a good candidate. take a second and think about what this vehicle appears to be. i mean, have you ever seen or ever heard of another like it. A turbo charged factory 4 speed, 9 inch posi grabber????? No, I don't guess I have ever seen or heard of another like it. ....Pinch his head off...... When did turbos become stock on vehicles in general anyway??? Just curious. What a liar!!!! Preston
wow. I guess I'd better put a bid on it. I need another rusted out hunk of shhhhhhhhtuff to take up some more of my driveway. Maybe I'll park my current Maverick outside so I can preserve that one in the fine condition it's in.
I sent him a message: "I`m afraid your car is nothing more than a regular 1971 Grabber with a 302-2bbl and 3-speed tranny with a 8" open 3.00:1 rearend.Atleast, thats what all the numbers say that you listed with the car.And that turbo is an aftermarket kit made by Garret in the late 1970`s and is NOT factory. Those exhaust manifolds are factory stock 289/302 ones. And there is no such thing as a Ford Maverick Shelby Grabber. Also, according to the information you gave, the car was built in the USA,and not Canada like you claim. Also the Hurst shifter is aftermarket as well.Just giving you a heads up on it,maybe you were just misinformed yourself." A few of the numbers he gave made no sense at all though, like the DSO,and tranny codes.
