Thought i would share my maverick

    Hi all, i havent been on this site long, but ive had my maverick for a while now, a little bit about the car, its a 72 grabber, factory 302 c4 car, ive installed front disc brakes, mild build 306 with a 77 model c4, 3.80 rear with a trac loc, the first time i took it too the strip i ran a 8.8 at 83 mph with a 2.25 60ft, it was a slug taking off, my converter sucked at the time, well i up graded the converter with a edge custom converter, awesome converters!, i also put some drag radials on to, i went back this past weekend and ran a 8.23 spinning bad with a 1.84 60ft, much better now just got to get it to hook, but i have a couple of videos i will show yall, they are from the first time i took the car to the strip

    i got the car with no engine or transmission, the car had been in a barn for 22 years, oh by the way thats the orginal paint on the car!, the engine is a 83 model block, bored 30 over, speed pro flat top pistons with valve reliefs, thumper cam, 1966 289 heads 1.94 intake 1.6 exhaust, port work, dual plane intake with a 600 holley dp, the trans came out of a 77 ford granada, i havent touched the transmission other than change some seals put a new pump bushing in and adjust the bands, very simple combo that runs fairly well i think, esp. since i put the new converter in

    the track is in screven county ga, close to sylvania

    wow thats a small track looks like no room on that track for a powerful car if the back end was it kick out a bit

    yeah its small, there are guys that bring those big bad cars they usually let them run by thereselfs, its not a nhra track which is kinda scary, cause you never know what some hack rigged up to get his car down the track, i dont like running there but is all i have unless i drive two hours!

    ok so i got back to the track this past weekend, still working on the car, the only video i have is of me running a kia suv! haha anyways enjoy!

    yeah the kia was rather funny, im gonna swap my intake, and do some other small changes im trying to get in the 7's with out some major mods dunno if i can tho :hmmm:
