Thought this was funny. I was outside working on both my 86 gt mustangs when a kid, no older than 6-8 years old rides by on a bike and kind of admiringly says"jeeze he likes mustangs" (referring to my vert and hatch 86's) Then as he finishes riding by he mutters "I like the blue one" referring to my maverick which was also on the driveway next to my 2 stangs. Oh well, I will have to set him straight one of these days.-educate him on the difference between a Maverick and a Mustang
Kid has taste!!! Reminds me of last summer, when I was driving my 70' around town, and I stop at a light and there is young boy and two girls around 8-10 years old on the corner, and the boy yells out "Cool car!". I just beeped, waved and drove on. The funny thing is other than the rims, the car needs some attention like a new paint job real bad! I think it is neat that these young kids recognize what all of here already know, and that is these cars are cool!!!
We just loaned out my 76' Maverick to my sister-in-law while we did some repairs to her car. She only had the Maverick one day and she just had to tell me how many people wanted to buy her ' Mustang'. Even she knows it's a Maverick and she's a very spry 70 years old. She loves driving the Maverick and would love to buy it off us. I have had the Mavericks confused with other brands of cars though. One time at a car show, a boy of about 13 years of age walked by my 77' Maverick and commented on what a nice looking Charger it was. I laughed so hard I nearly had the Pepsi I was drinking come out my nose.
At least they thought it was a Mustang. I was at a cruise last year and someone asked me if my Stallion was a Camaro!
