So the biggest reason why I like the grabber is obviously because of the hood, its eye catching and very rad... I dont know I just have not seen that style before. I've been playing around with the idea of fabricating the front end of the comet hood onto the back half of the grabber so I can get the grabber cowl slots. When I get the time to work on this I'll start off on a couple shoddy hoods so as not to ruin a good grabber hood off the bat. What do you think?
This is what I do when I am at work on my weds/thursday's. lurk and lurk and lurk the comet/mav forums. So much info.
I bet I can figure it out, but I guess I should just focus on one project at a time. Ive got so many ideas I want to work with.
the shape of the hoods down the center line is totally different.. it would be quite a challenge for sure. but if it works out it would be neat. then use it as a mold to make a glass hood
I like the idea and I'd love to see it happen. A Comet GT with Grabber scoops would look pretty bitchin' in my humble opinion.
Find yourself a Grabber hood with the front hood lip rotted out because you'll be replacing that bad area with the Comet part anyway. No sense in cutting up a really nice Grabber hood that still has good value. You sould be able to find them fairly inexpensive in that condition. Good luck with your project
yeah thats what im thinking would be best. I'm excited about it, however I probably wont start looking for the parts until the new year unless I come across a good deal.
This was brought up before and I think it was determined that the only shot was a good TIG welder would have to graft the scoop areas (2 pieces) to a Comet hood because of the shape of the leading edge of the Comet hood as stated above. In that post someone referenced the Mustang that had Grabber scoops grafted on.
How about this idea? Cut the scoops out and graph them to the comet hood. Mustang guys do this around here.
