Well I got the new motor in the Comet and took it to the dyno a couple of weeks ago. The motor made (at rear wheel) 421hp and 358ft-lbs of torque at 6200 RPM. On saturday I went down to Tucson and ran the ADRA race to do testing. The 1st pass the car felt lazy and ran a 11.36 at 116mph. I checked the plugs and EGTs which both said the carb was fat so I lean it out four steps all the way around. The car ran at 11.260 at 119mph

the car has stock leaf spring with slapper bar 4.10 gears 28x10 tires so 1.572 60ft are not bad. I have order caltac for it so maybe I can get it to the low 1.50 or high 1.40

The motor is a 68 block bored .40 over with an eagle 3.4 crank and eagle i-beam 5.4 rods. Which make it 349 cu in.The pistons are keith black forged 12.5 to 1 domes . The heads are victor jr and so is the manifold and a holley 750dp. The cam is a crane .570. Lift solid flat tappet I don't know the rest of the spec on it .the trans is a pa c-4 and a road runner 5300 converter

Really nice times and very decent 60' with just slapper bars, you should certainly do better with the Caltraks.

Went to Va Motorsports park in Petersburg yesterday, guy w/ the green Maverick that ran at Budds Creek Md was there.Made it to the final round again, lost to a girl w/ a stock fox body running 12.68,he was turning 9.88 at 132.She had to have a delay box,he said he could have got her but he would have broke out,she cut an .03 light. Her last 3 rounds every car she raced was turning 9.80s.My friend Andy Walker was there w/ his fox body running w/ the Pro Stick guys, had a terrible day,but fun.He did`nt want to buy new slicks because it`s the end of the season,he said his tires were to old & it was to cold, did`nt hook until the first round of eliminations and broke out. These were his 3 passes on those tires,9.06 at 153,8.95 at 147 & broke out on a 8.88 at 141,plus he was bumping the rev limiter so he had to back out.It was pretty cold, never got out of the 50s & very windy, was well into the 40s by the end of the night, but we had a great time.
