I don't post up EVERY drag racing video I think is cool.

You might've seen this one but just in case you missed it, here's a pretty good compilation of high-speed mishaps.

Old folk (like me) can mute the sound.

That is some scary, SCARY, chit!!!

I think I will DEFINITELY stay under 500 HP...

The really scary ones are where they get major air without hitting anything. Just blowing UP!!!

I got Anna to watch the entire clip. She said "You are NOT going to race on the track again!!!" (until I "up" you life insurance). I told her the next time we take our beloved 210 HP to the track, SHE is driving at least once to see what is going on.

There is now a domestic dispute in our house...

Ha! Yup, there's quite a difference in what we 'humans' drive compared to those guys.

I think Anna would have a blast taking the Mav down the track. Maybe start off at 1/8th mile. The car will only be traveling around 80 mph - and that's only for a very short period of time.

The problem would be that you wouldn't be able to get her out of it! :D

I agree, but she is seeing all of these crash videos...I keep telling her "that is alcohol fire...you can put your hand in it and not get burned", and "they have 10,000 horsepower, and I have only 210..."

She WILL drive the next time we go to the local 1/8th track. She WILL :D

I will tell her "let the other guy take off a good 1/2 second ahead of you, then GUN IT!!!"

Even then, she will get quite a kick, plus be less afraid that the other guy will crash on top of her.

That sounds cool, but all she has to do is tell the starter she wants to run a solo - they'll let her go down the track by herself.

Then, when she gets the hang of leaving on the second amber, she can take 'em all on side-by-side!

If you were here at the right time...she made a comment about "who does he think he is with all of this "She WILL" stuff". She submitted it, edited it 3 times, then chickened out and deleted it.

I think I might have to make her her own user name and let her speak her voice

Ha! I meant no harm, Anna. I assumed I was talking to the Scoop. I dunno if that even came out right.

I'M A GOOD GUY. I MEAN NO HARM TO ANYONE.:Handshake

BTW, I think you SHOULD get your own user i.d. :yup:

I assume you 'both' own the Maverick (that Texas law thing)? I think Susie let's me have the Maverick allllll to myself - until she runs it down the track one day (and that won't be soon :yikes: ).

Rick, there was no offense taken (and at what, I don't know?). She was trying to write a smart-a$$ed comeback, and I was looking over her shoulder and she started to second-guess herself, and thought it sounded dumb afterwards. She changed it up a couple times, then figured, "what the hell?" and just deleted it.

I came along after she got off and wrote the "gist" of what she was saying.

I left out the part where she said "I will race, on my own time, and in my own Supercharged Bonneville!" I told her she better not write that on a Maverick forum, or she will be making enemies. I guess she took it seriously.

Now that I think back, it was all my fault

I remember a female in my house long ago stating "You're not driving an Outlaw 10.5 car," after seeing one get loose and into the wall. Nevermind the fact that I had already driven both Alcohol Funny Cars and Injected Nitro Dragsters. She was adamant about it too.

Sometimes I miss her. But not often. :D

I finally got her her own user name. Now she can stop logging in as a "drunken" version of me and write things that I would never say...sober :drink:

Wait, that may NOT be a good thing :yikes:
