just wanted to ask if anyone has a Maverick with a torino hood scoop? I think the hood scoop is a 68-70. it is a bolt on one. If anyone has one, please post some pics!!!!
there is a little talk about it in another Forum...check it out. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=22605
I use that scoop. I put one on my Sprint about 3-4 months after I bought it. http://mmb.maverick.to/gallery/showimage.php?i=1384&c=8&userid=38
Here is my 77 which I also had the scoop on. I sold the car 3 years ago but kept the hood and scoop. Its now on my 71.
i like both of the ones on the sprint and the 77.. is there a step by step scoop instilation guide anywhere.. sorry to sound like such a novice but, well, i am a novice haha
The factory scoops and the aftermarket scoops hole patterns are different. Be careful that the guide you follow is for the right one. I have a Ford numbered factory scoop that has different stud holes for different models.
NO step by step. I just put it on where it looks good and mark the studs. You also have to watch where the studs come out. You dont want them inside a hood rib. I center the scoop. align the back with the back edge of the hood, then bring it foward about 1 3/8".
I'm not sure what it came from. I got it from my brother on a 69.5 Maverick. Ford Assembly is embossed on the back and a C9** part number. Looks like a Comet GT to me but unsure of exact origin.
The scoop on the 77 was from a 69 Torino. It was the one I origionally put on my Sprint back in 72. SInce I painted the 77 first, I stole the scoop of it. I picked up a another scoop in Carlisle. They are pretty much all the same. They were used on Mustangs, Torinos and Rancheros. I also like them because of the turn signal indicators in the back, which I hook up.
