Is there anyone who could post picts of Rusted Torque Boxes and ones that are either repaired or otherwise not rusty? I just want to have a point of reference to see how they shoud be, compared to rusty ones.
Those are great, thats the best shot I've seen, that helps me alot, I want to get under my car to see if they look solid or not. What gauge steel is in the torque boxes?, or about how thick are they?
Here's a few pics of the torque box on our Stallion before and after we repaired it. My husband made the repair patches out of 16 gage steel.
Thanks everyone, are these literally exposed in at the back of the front fender ( at work so can't go out and look at the car). Isn't there an inner fender? Now I can't wait to check mine out, this really gives me a better understanding of what I am looking at. It looks like these create a hollow between the forward part of the floorboard where the floor meets the firewall correct?
Aren't where the rear leaf springs attach toward the front under the back seat torque boxes? Maybe there are front and rear torque boxes??
The yellow arrows point to the torque boxes. Torque boxes basically connect the rocker panels to the frame rails to make a sorta frame.
