I am putting in a new tranny and torque converter in the next couple weeks. I am thinking a 2000 to 2200 rpm stall is what I need.

This is what I got: 302, Edelbrock 4bbl, headers, Flowmaster exhaust with cutouts, edelbrock performer manifold and cam both rated at 0-5500 rpm, electric fuel pump, slightly higher compression pistons over stock, HEI 50000 volt distributor, 3.55 posi rear, electric fan for radiator, trans cooler, 100 hp NOS, BD slap shift.

I looked at some graphs from Edelbrock based on my cam and manifold, it looks like the good power range starts coming in at 2000 to 2200 rpms. So you think 2k to 2.2k stall is what I should get?

It is a street car with a few trips to the strip each year.

    Thanks fellas

Id give P.A. a call or whoever you wish to deal with and get a recomendation. If you want to just do jegs or summit id go with a 2500 at least. In my experience most converters are tighter than listed.

A small block doesnt have the torque to hit the rated stall speed of a converter. My last Mav had a 3500 stall and the tech told me when ordering that it would likely hit 3000-3200 with my setup. He was dead on. The guys who build them know the product. I would go with their recommendation for your car.
