Got it out for a rebuild cause it was slipping since I bought the car. Oil was brownish with a fair amount of metal flakes in the pan. Discovered it's a pan fill with the larger bell housing with a screw in modulator. No wonder the headers were a bitch to get out! This is gonna be my first tranny rebuild so I'm doing a bunch of research before I dive in. Gained a lot of respect for member PaulS from reading his older posts all over the net. Hope he's doing well. Have to clean up the casting numbers to get a better read on them but from what I can see it looks like RF?? P-7006. Date codes is May 24,1971. Tail stock casting numbers D4ZP 7A040AA which I think means that's from a 74 mustang? I want to make sure of what I got and and will probably disassemble it before ordering any parts. Anybody got any advice or other words of wisdom before the plunge? Sorry about the big pics, couldn't figure how to post thumbnails....
