OK - you motiviated me! Gonna take a week vacation next month, get my disc brakes and suspension done and engine swapped so I'm ready for paint!
What-What! Can you do that again? Man, Riporter that looks awesome. Now I really gotta get going on mine. Thanks for the help Riporter, Thom
Rick; great job. Looks better everytime I see it. BTW, did you ever get a valence panel, pre-73? Earl
Thanks for all the compliments guys, it has been a labor of love to say the least and is very addictive, I get going and can't seem to stop. As yall have noticed I'm going for the strictly factory stock look and I'd like your input as to what still needs to be done to acheive that look, if something is not right let me know please. Here's a closeup pic to help out. Earl I havn't found a Valence that I didn't think was too expensive as of yet $150.00 plus shipping I think is a bit high.
The before pic there looks like my car now. So how do I get it to look like the after pic smart ass? J/K Rip That looks great, now where do I find the detailed instructions on how to do that to my car? Dave
There is a method to the madness Dave. I have a large table that sits in front of the engine bay and as each part is pulled it is placed on the table the way it came off...all nuts bolts and screws are bagged and tagged...each part is then refurbished and placed back on the car in reverse order that it came off. I learned what "Numbers Matching" truly means during this resto. Almost every part had a Reference number plate or tag on it that made it unique to this car...even the radiator had one. The only part I replaced was the water pump and thermostat. This car is gonna be the wifes daily driver when its done so I'm goin for practical...not perfect
I am trying to build a show car with mine. I also want to put enough Umph in it to be able to spin the tires pretty good when I wanna. It would also be nice to show the little Japcrap racers around here what for. Being new to the rebuilding deal makes this an intresting adventure.
