Whenever i kinda romp of my maverick, i hear a THUNK around the hump by the shifter, could that be the sign of a transmission mount cracked, i checked the motor mounts and they are good. If so, HOW hard is it to change? 302/Automatic Floor Shifter Thanks! Chaz.
Not too hard to change really, if you have the tools and space. If you can get it up on ramps and get underneath, if the mount is broken you may be able to tell by trying to move the trans any by placing a jack under it and applying a little pressure...might be able to see something obvious. Could also be a Universal Joint too...that's where my money would be...
Well the FRONT U-Joint was blown up. suprised i didnt flip the car!! and the transmission mount and both motor mounts are rotton. So im trying to locate the motor mounts, everyone needs to special order them! UGH! Chaz.
Napa told me 3 days. everyone told me 3 days. LOL.. I found ONE in Houston, TX i should have that tomorrow and the front end alignment place found ONE local, so tommorow i should have them both.. what a pain for motor mounts! Chaz,.
