I went to a local wrecking yard looking specifically for a a right front fender chrome strip. I found one on the seventh maverick I came to. I was less than half way through the yard.

I was pressed for time and didn't look any of the cars over in detail if they didn't have what I was looking for. I gotta go back when I'm not in a hurry!

I did take pics with the new cell phone, but I've got to get the hardware to transfer them to the computer.

Oh, I saw one more as I was leaving. I am SURE there are others.

Seven Mavericks in one Junk Yard and seen another one on the way out for a total of 8, in one place. Either the Junk Yard owner is out looking for mavericks to haul in to his Yard or I am going to call :bs: on this one.

I know a yard in PA that has over 20. Not much left of them but they are there, including a Sprint.

My "secret spot" here has 8 and I know of one other yard that has 4 or 5. Most anything of value from them is now gone ................ :D

But it is harder and harder to find them ...... thank you China and the high price of scrap iron!

This yard specializes in parts. They will pull what you want or better, they will let you go "treasure hunting" and bring the spoils by for examination and pricing.

I mentioned going here before and according to one of the employees I talked to, there are 12,000 cars there. I believe they evaluate all incoming cars for the amount of useable parts and crush those that are useless from the start.

If a car makes it out to the yard it's still got good stuff left. Some of them have been in the yard for many years. There are cars from the forties still out there. I don't think that a car will go to a crusher from the line until it has REALLY been stripped.

I had to get seatbelts for my 74 Maverick earlier and ultimately got them from a similar age Ford, but not specifically a Maverick.

I have not yet given the whole yard a thurough look through.

    Some day soon...

My favorite salvage yard has two. One is 'drivable.' He wants $450 for it. It's a six cylinder. other one is a parts car
