I pulled all the trim off my Mav the other day. Most of the two sided tape that holds the trim on stayed on the car. I sprayed WD-40 on it and it came off very easily.

If your getting ready to paint, I wouldnt recomend using any kind of oily cleaner or anything with silicones, on the body. All you have to do is have a little hiding in a crevis and I guantee it will soon lift your new paint. A friend of mine was painting a car once and a guy out in the shop was spraying Armorall, cleaning the interior of a different car. The mist or over spray somehow ended up in the air and ruined the painted car. We had to sand off the entire paint job and start over. You can go to any store that sells automotive paints and buy a good degreaser. I use PPG DX330 Arcyli-clean. If your not worried about the paint, laquer thinner or acetone works great.
