ive noticed that on the 70 maverick, it has a lip at the trunk...is their a way to convert this to a 74???? like taking the trunk off a 70 and putting it on a 74 with the outer edges
Not quite sure what "lip" you are refering to. However, from the pics you posted, it appears you are looking at the Grabber spoiler on the blue car. That is not a specific year trait so much as just a Grabber trait. 70-73 Grabbers had the ducktail spoiler. It bolts onto the trunk lid of any 2 door Maverick. The 4 quarter panel extensions must be used too. If you have a 74, you will need special considerations. Option 1: Convert your 74 to small bumpers, then use the 70-72 4 piece end cap set. (73 lower extensions are a little different. The uppers are same.) Option 2: Find some of the aftermarket fiberglass extensions made to put a ducktail on a big bumper car. These were made for a short time 'back when', but are probably very scarce now. Option 3: Use your quarter panel extensions to somehow make your own. Then you can just buy a center section for the trunk lid, or you can buy a complete set and sell the quarter extensions, which always seem to be in demand. douggow has a complete spoiler set for sale in the classified section. Dayum good price too if you compare to what they go for on eBay. Then there is one on Craigslist, at least there was a few days ago. There is a post about that one on the board too.
Plus....the 1974 you have pictured is a 4-door. All 4-doors have a totally different trunk shape to it.
Yeah, true about the 4 door picture. That's why I said they fit any Maverick "2 door"... Your info doesn't say if your 74 is a 2 or 4 door.
