My deck lid wont stay up on its own, does the hinges need replaced or is there an adjustment? If replacemant can these be easily and resonably found?
Look under the rear package tray inside the trunk. You will see the tension rods that hold up the trunk. I believe there are 3 adjustment slots for them, simply move them to another slot.
the adjustment rods are really tight on mine and theres no way i would be able to lift them off their hook with my hand alone. since i put the grabber spoiler on its too heavy to stay up on its own
How about someone with a factory Grabber with the spoiler, post a picture to show where the rod should be.
The easist way to adjust ... lay in the trunk with the lid closed to remove as much tension as possible. You should be able to use the end of a socket extension on the end of the tensioner rod to push it up a couple of adjustment notches. Don't put it up too high or the trunk lid will fly open to fast ... I may have the tension part backwards but laying in the truck and pushing up does work ....
Mine is on the second from the bottom ... there are 2 more above it. My trunk lid stays open just fine at car shows. There has been on occasion very strong winds that may close it ... but it has to be pretty high wind to do it.
with the tension arm maxed and it being all on one side, the pass. side of my trunk lid wanted to spring up when closed... ...
