So my Maverick has some pretty bad cancer in the trunk. Middle of the pan has a nice sized hole rusted out. I'm really just trying to get it in working order at this point but cant put the gas tank in until I fix this. Not really sure what the best thing as far as DIY is here. I was told I may be able to use the pan out of a 71 mustang if I could find that, but I'd rather buy them or was thinking about pop-riveting sheet metal in. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks.
Post up some pix so we can see how bad it is. Pop-riviting anything in would be a temporary fix in my opinion. I think you would be able to find a trunk floor pan from somebody on here.
I bought a 65/66 mustang trunk pan for my 2 door from yearone. Doesnt match perfect but it's a nearly a stock replacement
I was able to get a donor trunk from a fellow member here and had a local welder cut out the old one and weld in the new one. Perfect fit.
I have a 74 trunk pan for $70.00 plus shipping by Greyhound Bus. I can cut as much as you need from a rust free Texas car. PM me if interested. Thanks Rick
