    Hey everyone,
I was curious if anyone new where I could get a turbocharger or how to make one work for my 200 straight six in the ol' Mavie... Now, I know what you're thinking, but I'm in no way trying to go for the fast and the furious stupid asian (stupid asian= the cars, not the people, i dont mind the people (y) ) rice burner style with the turbocharger, I'm just trying to do something different while keeping the original engine, and increasing the power. Mind you also that I don't plan on doing that for a very long while, I was just interested to see if anyone could even give me some direction on the turbo in straight six area. Thanks guys!

Some stock "asian" cars will walk right over half the cars on this board.

For info on the turbo go to fordsix.com

Could you please tell me what POS sardine cans on wheels have to do with turbo chargeing a 200? I could care less how fast they are, they are still pieces of trash.

this place cracks me up...shallow, shallow...

Anywhoo, like Rad Mav said, alot of work if you ain't commited to the cause. If you are, you can make some great hp, and beat alot of cars, if the rest of your car is set up right.

There was a Falcon, I think I saw it on the Fordsix site, basically a stock 250, with a turbo going low 12's, maybe even faster. I think 10's is the goal, may have already been in the 11's, I don't remember. Just think how good these motors would run if they wouldn't have around 50 year old technology! I think comparing today's high tech rice crap to antiques is a little unfair. Put that rice junk against a BBF with some cubes......Yeah, BBF tech has come a long way too. I don't see any ricers going 5.'s or 4.'s in the 1/4, Toyota bodied funny cars don't count!

Since a turbo was never an option on these fine Mavericks, you can use just about any turbo you want. Since you are going to have to fabricate everything, go to a large junkyard and look turbos sitting in ricers and pickup trucks. Sounds a fun and interesting project to me.

LOL, remember, just because you don't like something doesn't mean it doesn't work, its a piece of trash, or is worthless. We just don't like some things, and love other things. I don't like okra. But its still good. :)

Shuttle, some of the fastest Ford and Chebbie V8 domestic heads up racers on the planet run turbo's. Just because you have a turbo, you are not automatically a (fill in your favorite phrase). The same way that driving a 60's or 70's domestic doesn't make you a (fill in your other favorite phrase).

Page 78 of the March Car Craft. Its the turbo falcon YellowStang was talking about.
    11.80's @ 110. 255 6 inline 6. T04 w/ 57mm inducer. 2600 lbs..

Do your thing man. And have fun.

 I was not serious at all. I was giving Maverick75 a hard time since he obviously felt strongly about his 'hot imports'.

    crazy

hey mav75 there is no replacement for displacement and they may walk all over your car so speak for yourself. By the way some of those gtrs and skylines are car that you cant get in the us. Have you ever seen a small block ford turboed putting out 1000 horses on stock block and crank they will kill any import car. Not trying to give you a hard time. I have a friend with a 69 pickup with a twin turbo LS2 motor putting out some insane horsepower. turbos are good they rob no power from the engine

Not all of us are shallow;) :D

Most people dream of doing something, most never get past that stage. Good Luck but I have to agree it doesn't sound like a viable option if it is short term.
